Our Commitment to Safety

Safety is the foundation of everything we haul. ATC Family Transport is a federally registered motor carrier (USDOT 3492067, MC 1149655) specializing in flatbed, step-deck, and lowboy RGN freight, and we operate under FMCSA’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs).

Driver Qualification

  • All drivers must meet FMCSA driver qualification requirements, including a valid CDL, current medical certification (DOT physical), and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with 49 CFR Part 382.
  • Ongoing review of driving records and safety performance.

Hours of Service & Electronic Logging

Our drivers operate under FMCSA Hours of Service (HOS) rules and record their duty status using compliant Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs), helping prevent fatigue-related incidents and keep our fleet accountable.

Equipment & Maintenance

Our flatbed, step-deck, and RGN equipment is maintained on a regular inspection and preventive-maintenance schedule, with pre-trip and post-trip inspections performed by our drivers on every load.

Cargo Securement

Loads are secured in accordance with FMCSA cargo securement regulations (49 CFR Part 393, Subpart I), using proper tie-downs, chains, straps, edge protection, and load planning for the specific freight type — machinery, steel, building materials, or oversized equipment.

Safety Culture

We treat our drivers as family, not just a truck number. That means real support from dispatch, realistic scheduling, and a culture where raising a safety concern is always the right call — never a problem.

Insurance & Compliance Records

ATC Family Transport maintains cargo and liability insurance coverage consistent with FMCSA requirements for our authority. Current insurance certificates and safety records are available to brokers and shippers on request.

Reporting a Safety Concern

If you have a safety concern involving one of our drivers or vehicles, contact us at HR@atc-transport.com or 225 N. Arlington Heights Rd, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007. You may also report safety concerns about any motor carrier directly to the FMCSA at 1-888-368-7238 or via the National Consumer Complaint Database (nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov).
